This month is our staff intake. More new staffs are joining our team. I had conducted a Personal Grooming Class on Friday for the new staffs.
Most of them are fresh in the industry. Therefore, I had to go into depth on the proper standard on the hotel’s grooming. It contains everything from their hair style, make up, dress up, walking posture, standing posture, sitting posture and their shoes.
Most of ladies feel enjoyed especially towards the make up session. I always believe that “Touch up” is very important for everyone! I also feel very contented after seeing the difference on them after the class.
I went to Maybank with a bunch of colleagues. There isn’t any ATM facilities in any of the Maybank branches in Cambodia. It was not convenient as any transaction has to gone through the bank teller. Worst thing is that all Maybanks in Cambodia close at 3.00pm!!!
After that, we went to KFC for lunch! Yes, there’s KFC in Cambodia! This is the first fast food outlet opened in Phnom Penh! The taste of KFC is quite similar to the one in Malaysia. But, the price is 30% more expensive than Malaysia. I had snack plate for lunch at USD3.20 per set.
We went there by Tuk Tuk! Wow~ The charges for Tuk Tuk is even more expensive than the taxi in KL. It costs at USD8 for the whole journey!

31st May - Saturday, we went to Joanne’s house for dinner. Didn’t meet them for a few months. She went back to Perth for a month in April, when she was back to Phnom Penh, then we went back to Malaysia for May.
As usual, my brother in-law, Justin will prepare dinner for us. He’s a good cook! Bad news from them was that they’ll be leaving Cambodia to another country by end of next year. So my only cousin in Cambodia will also be leaving us… Let me also introduce them to you, Joanne is my cousin sister (my mum’s sister’s daughter). Both of them were born and grown up in Perth, Australia and graduated from Law school. Currently working in an NGO in Phnom Penh as Legal Consultant.
We managed to play with their twins on that night. Helped them to wear on their pyjamas, fed them dinner, bread with peanut butter and some soup. It was so fun and I only realized that being a mother is not easy. Now I understand why all my friends lose weight after become a mother.
25th June 2008, is a special day of my best friend's Registration of Marriage! I would like to say congratulations to her on this special day! She has finally found her other part in her life! Happy for them :)
The ROM was held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I was regret that i would not be able to join for that event as i was far away from them, currently working in Cambodia. However, i hope that i could take sometime off to join for their actual wedding ceremony!
She used to be one of my candidate to become my bridesmaid for my wedding. Now i've to sratch my mind to think of another suitable candidate as my bridesmaid as both of my only best friends had got married which is Dachele and Polly!
We knew each other in year 1996 through our English Tuition Class. We traveled together, had fun together, shared all the happiness and sadness throughout these years!
Their ROM was so unique as they were wearing in Japanese Costume (Yukata which was bought by her mother in law).
Lastly, I would like to have the best wishes for the couple!
Last weekend was a really enjoying week! Went to few restaurants to have Asian cuisine. For those who might plan to come to Phnom Penh for a visit. It’ll be very useful to understand more about the country.
Last Saturday, we went to Asian Café for lunch. It was opened by a Singaporean. We definitely miss all the Malaysian Food after being here for 10 months. We had the best Nasi Lemak in town which costs at only USD2.20. Very reasonable and JE said the taste is quite similar as the one at VillagePark, Damansara Uptown (The most famous Nasi Lemak in Malaysia). I even asked for more and more sambal as you can see the portion that they gave was not enough J And we ordered for Roti Canai. Not as good as the one in Malaysia. No wonder they are only famous for Nasi Lemak.
On Sunday, we went to an exclusive restaurant called “CHAOS” who served for Asian cuisine. It was opened by a Canadian and they also have few other branches in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh. The price was so expensive that the bill came out at USD25.00 just for the 2 of us and for breakfast only. But, the place is so exclusive and good for fine dining. We ordered for Nasi Goreng Kampong and Fried Rice Noodle in Thai Style. The food was not bad but I think with the price what we had paid was not worth. The Mineral Water even costed at USD4.50 per bottle.

I would say in Phnom Penh the food is more expensive than in Malaysia. But if for western food, the quality is much better than the one in Malaysia as most of them are operate by foreigners.
After that, JE went to take a few pictures along River side and RoyalPalace with his newly purchased Canon professional Camera and Lense. Also went for shopping and hunting for dresses and accessories as usual. Didn’t get for anything :( The weekend was so enjoyed and looking forward for the next weekend!
