31st May - Saturday, we went to Joanne’s house for dinner. Didn’t meet them for a few months. She went back to Perth for a month in April, when she was back to Phnom Penh, then we went back to Malaysia for May.
As usual, my brother in-law, Justin will prepare dinner for us. He’s a good cook! Bad news from them was that they’ll be leaving Cambodia to another country by end of next year. So my only cousin in Cambodia will also be leaving us… Let me also introduce them to you, Joanne is my cousin sister (my mum’s sister’s daughter). Both of them were born and grown up in Perth, Australia and graduated from Law school. Currently working in an NGO in Phnom Penh as Legal Consultant.
We managed to play with their twins on that night. Helped them to wear on their pyjamas, fed them dinner, bread with peanut butter and some soup. It was so fun and I only realized that being a mother is not easy. Now I understand why all my friends lose weight after become a mother.
25th June 2008, is a special day of my best friend's Registration of Marriage! I would like to say congratulations to her on this special day! She has finally found her other part in her life! Happy for them :)
The ROM was held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I was regret that i would not be able to join for that event as i was far away from them, currently working in Cambodia. However, i hope that i could take sometime off to join for their actual wedding ceremony!
She used to be one of my candidate to become my bridesmaid for my wedding. Now i've to sratch my mind to think of another suitable candidate as my bridesmaid as both of my only best friends had got married which is Dachele and Polly!
We knew each other in year 1996 through our English Tuition Class. We traveled together, had fun together, shared all the happiness and sadness throughout these years!
Their ROM was so unique as they were wearing in Japanese Costume (Yukata which was bought by her mother in law).
Lastly, I would like to have the best wishes for the couple!
Last weekend was a really enjoying week! Went to few restaurants to have Asian cuisine. For those who might plan to come to Phnom Penh for a visit. It’ll be very useful to understand more about the country.
On Sunday, we went to an exclusive restaurant called “CHAOS” who served for Asian cuisine. It was opened by a Canadian and they also have few other branches in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh. The price was so expensive that the bill came out at USD25.00 just for the 2 of us and for breakfast only. But, the place is so exclusive and good for fine dining. We ordered for Nasi Goreng Kampong and Fried Rice Noodle in Thai Style. The food was not bad but I think with the price what we had paid was not worth. The Mineral Water even costed at USD4.50 per bottle.
Interior of CHAOS Restaurant
Nasi Goreng Kampong at USD9.50
Fried Rice Noodle in Thai Style at USD9.50

Mineral Water..hehe
I would say in Phnom Penh the food is more expensive than in Malaysia. But if for western food, the quality is much better than the one in Malaysia as most of them are operate by foreigners.
After that, JE went to take a few pictures along River side and RoyalPalace with his newly purchased Canon professional Camera and Lense. Also went for shopping and hunting for dresses and accessories as usual. Didn’t get for anything :( The weekend was so enjoyed and looking forward for the next weekend!
Monday Blue Today…….
Can see someone with pyjamas at a shopping centre.
Went to a cocktail dinner invited by Malaysian Embassy at Intercontinental Hotel, Phnom Penh on the 9th June 2008 in conjunction of the celebration of Agong’s Birthday. All Malaysians are invited to the event. Feels like going back home after seeing so many Malaysians. Majority of them are working in the banking line, Hotel Industry, construction line or owning own business.
Everyone was wearing Batik and Baju Melayu on that night. I have more than ten Baju Kebaya and Baju Kurung but didn’t bring any here. I used to wear Baju Kebaya to work every Friday or whenever I do Sales Calls in Putrajaya. Therefore, only wore my normal working suits to that event.
The Malaysian food served on that night was not so nice as was cooked by European Chef. The satay looks like Grilled chicken fillet. Really miss Malaysian Food like Penang Fried Kway Teow, Ho Fun Soup, Sarawak Laksa, Sarawak Kolok Mee….
Will be back home soon in few weeks time! See you guys soon! Happy Happy......
All Malaysians in Baju Melayu

Finally can take a day off. Been working last weekends due to VVIP arrival. It had been quite sometime that we did not dine outside. Most of time i'll be rushing back home to prepare for dinner after work.
Had dinner on Saturday night at Lemongrass Thai Restaurant. It was located along Riverside which is a tourist area like Clark Quay in Singapore. Lots of bars and expat restaurants can be found along the street.
Lemongrass Thai Restaurant is opened by Thai and there's few other branches in Bangkok and Singapore. The food is quite nice compare to the Thai food restaurant in Malaysia.
Had ordered four dishes just for the two of us. The total bill is quite reasonable which is at only USD25. I quite like the Tom Yam and the minced meat with Mint leave. The taste is just like the one that i had in Bangkok.
After the dinner, went to the nearest flea market. I got myself 2 dresses which cost at only total of USD6. Then, went to a bar and saw them selling some spider and snake wine. Actually wanted to get a bottle to bring back to Malaysia as souvenir. But, thinking of the custom issue.
Anyway, the night was really enjoying. Looking forward for the next weekend!
14th June 2008, is my staff, Sasa's last day at work with us! It's always not easy to say "GOODBYE" with someone. Wish her all the best in her career!
Well, it's always easier to get new staff than to retain old staffs. Anyway, i wouldn't want to retain my staffs if they got any better career advancement for their future.
It's always good to know more people in your daily life like your colleagues, friends, staffs....
Just wish her all the best in her future undertaking :)
If i'm in KL now, i'll be going out for Shopping at The Curve, Mid Valley or KLCC.
If i'm in Miri now, i'll be going out for a drink with Dachele, Polly and my friend. And will be going for Karaoke follow by clubbing tonight.
I feel so boring here~ No close friends, no entertainment and not much shopping outlets! Anyway have to think positively, that's the way to have more savings :)
I miss my hometown, my family and my friends....
I miss you very much Ning Ning!
Have you seen anyone in Pyjamas going to a casino to gamble??? You can see it everywhere in Cambodia.
Taken during my last trip back to Miri. It was taken from a Saloon at Boulevard! Miss Miri so much!
I had tried a product recently from a direct selling company called “Melilea Greenfield Organic.” It was recommended to me by my girlfriend, Jane. I am not a member of Melilea and only use Jane’s membership to purchase this product. This product costs at RM165.00 per bottle and can consume up to 2 months (one scoop per day).
I had tried many different products to cure my constipation problem yet not worked like Slimming tea, NH Detoxlim Pills etc. Due to the stomach pain problem which makes me stop consuming these product.
This is the third bottle of Melilea that I am consuming now. During the first bottle, acne and pimples grew aggressively in my cheek and back area. I nearly wanted to stop at that time. After the first bottle, my texture of my face become better and constipation problem had also improved.
However, the taste of this product is kind of irritating, it looks like a bit of onion, garlic or parlsley taste to me.
My sister, Lisa is also consuming this product. She actually lost some weight after consuming it. But, it does not have any effect on me. Maybe I’m such a good eater! Hehe…
Our company’s annual dinner was held on the 19th May 2008 At Phnom Penh Cultural Centre. This was the first annual dinner that I had with the company in Cambodia. The annual dinner was on buffet concept as there was a total of 3,000 staffs joining for this event.
Not so enjoyed in this annual dinner as no theme night, no fun time like game session etc. It was just like a normal dinner event. I still remembered the previous annual dinner with different theme night such as “Pinky Night”, “Cultural Night”and “Wild Wild West Night”.
It was so fun but this year annual dinner was not so organized. Perhaps too many staffs.
